A little disappointing
Hi Les. I'm sorry you didn't have the success you though you would have. When you strip furniture back to bare wood and wax polish it, the wax is absorbed into the wood and doesn't really provide much protection. This is especially important when refinishing coffee tables, which by design have a lot of mechanical wear and are prone to spillages. This is why we spoke about refinishing using a hardwax oil to seal the table and then wax polish it. If you bought the satin finish hardwax oil and applied a few coast as I demonstrate in this video. https://youtu.be/zhWOxN6BB1I the sheen level should have improved to give you a soft satin finish. But more importantly, the coffee tables that are one of the most used pieces of furniture, in most homes, now has a useable, protective finish that will stand up to daily use unlike the bare waxed finish which will mark and damage very easily. I honestly don't think you have wasted any money. You have a natural looking set of coffee tables. If you wanted a deep gloss then I would have happily guided you to a different method of finishing. Kind regards Simon
