Water Resistant

*The R scale runs from R9 to R13, where R9 is slippery when wet, and R13 the least slippery. Floor surfaces that are classified by the DIN 51130 standard as R9 (or in some instances R10) will be slippery when used in wet or greasy conditions.

Application
- Ensure the wood surface is smooth, clean and dry before applying
- Use a good quality lint free cloth, brush or sponge roller to apply
- Apply two coats for best results on high traffic areas such as floors, kitchen worktops and dining tables
- Sanding between each coat is not always necessary but advisable for a smoother finish
*Rougher surfaces may increase the drying time and will require more applications to achieve a smooth finish.
Trade Tips
- On initial application, if possible, remove the excess hard wax oil with a lint free cloth as you apply it. This will help reduce the drying time.
- Unlike traditional varnishes our hard wax oil is not a viscous coating and will perform much better if applied in multiple thin layers as opposed to heavy single applications.
- Our hard wax oil is also very effective to use as a sanding sealer. Wipe it on bare wood and allow it to soak in for a few minutes. Then wipe away all the excess oil and allow to dry.

Drying Time
Our hard wax oil is made with natural ingredients. A single application will usually be dry in 8 hours. The drying time may extend in cold and humid environments.
* The best drying conditions are achieved by applying the hard wax oil sparingly in a warm, well ventilated room.
I've been restoring a Victorian oak dinning table and after watching Simon’s youtube video I decided to try the hard wax oil - and I'm so glad I did. So simple to apply and to clean up I've used 3 coats as the oak was in desperately in need of nourishment. A beautiful satin finish. Thank you will definitely use again on other projects.
Thank you so much for all the wonderful information on YouTube that has assisted my first attempt at restoring an old pub stool that belonged to my great grandad. The final finish with your hard wood oil was just perfect. I never realised how beautiful the stool was having only known it painted a hideous brown. I haven’t got a before photo but have a WIP one and a final one. The pub table is next and a pine kitchen table where I’ll try out the bees wax. A great product, lots on great online advice.

The packaging was beautiful, very well presented however I haven’t been able to use the product yet so can’t comment.
I used Gilboy’s Hard Wax Oil for the first time on unfinished Oak Cabinets. It’s the only product I used on them and they turned out GORGEOUS!! Easy to use, non toxic, unique finish without having to stain! I’m a can for life.

Bought this product after the Escape to the Chateau fellas recommended it. Have been trying for ages to find a distributor in the US for Osmo, but I'm glad I couldn't because this product is amazing. I'm using it on some reclaimed wooden doors and it's a joy to work with. Will be using it for stair treads next.

Great product and service
Really enjoyable to use. Beautiful finish, each coat blends easily and smells nice. Really happy with the outcome. Scraped off 5 layers of ugly paint to find a soft pine sill.. using this product (in combination with thorough sanding) resulted in a smooth hard-wood feel. The packaging was a nice touch too.
