HOW TO POLISH WITH BEESWAX

  1. Use a soft cloth or very fine 0000 wire wool
  2. With gentle pressure spread the polish evenly over the surface in the direction of the grain, being careful not to over apply and avoid any upholstered areas. Once applied the surface area should look matt in appearance
  3. Allow the pure pine turpentine to completely evaporate and the wax to harden for 20-30 minutes
  4. Use a soft buffing cloth to buff the wax to a deep and lustrous shine

Weekly furniture maintenance of removing dust can be done by simply using a slightly damp cloth and drying if needed with a clean dry cloth - beeswax polish will protect the surface for a very long time.

If you have a larger surface like the side of a chest of drawers or the top of a dining table apply the beeswax more evenly by dabbing the surface all over with small amounts of polish and then wipe in the direction of the grain to spread the wax evenly.

*SECRET TRADE TIP:

For carved relief areas such as an antique coffer, you can also apply beeswax furniture polish with a cheap 1 inch trimmed paint brush. It makes applying the beeswax much easier and allows the polish to get right into those dusty and hard to reach areas. Buff it 20 to 30 minutes later with the soft shoe brush and buffing cloth.

Bringing wood back to life from horrible dark stain

Old dark stained fold down table, been in the family since I can remember, always hated it.
Now it looks like it should dressed in light Oak with a proper coat of the best wax I’ve used. Not the cheapest but these items will live on.
Thanks

The best polish I've ever used.

The Pure Gold Beeswax Furniture Polishing Kit was delivered very quickly, and I have to say that after using various polishes over the years, this was the best that I have ever used. I appreciated the efficient shipping, personal touches such as a handwritten note and the little packet of sweet pea flower seeds that was included with the polish to help bee populations.

This is a wonderful little company that seem to really care about what they create and towards the environment. Thanks again, Rahul.

A good product

I had been asked to restore an heirloom Ercol table. My wife found your YouTube video of you doing just that to an Ercol coffee table. This gave me all the information I needed, the hard wax oil was new to me, but gave the professional finish I was after. The beeswax gives the finish a whole new dimension on top of the hard wax oil. My initial thoughts before buying the beeswax were that it was a bit expensive. My thoughts having used it and seeing how it added that extra dimension are that it is not expensive. I didn’t use it sparingly and can see it is going to go a long way and see me through several projects. I really like your refill policy and initial thoughts on that were that returning the tin...... but there was a prepaid return label.
I believe I will now be asked to restore a matching Ercol sideboard which I am looking forward to, especially as the research on how to do it is done and I have the materials (I will need to order some more cotton cloth)

Very pleased with Gilboys’s Pure Gold

Service and delivery superb, thank you Jo ans Simon.
Wanting to take a 1970’s darkish Oak Dresser back to a more modern Light Oak, but with a bit of sheen/shine to it. I was a little worried that the Pure Gold might make the scraped and fine sanded Oak darken again but Simon advised it would be ok.
It was easy to apply the wax with fine wire wool (also from Gilboys), left for about an hour then a quick buff and bobsyousuncle!
My Wife (and I) are more than happy with the result, thank you Gilboys.
