Everything you need to start polishing your furniture like a professional with the best beeswax polish:
Perfect if you have one prize piece of wooden furniture or have two or three pieces of different types of wood. We have ensured there is enough in each tin to cover a single piece of furniture (depending on the absorption rate of the wood) such as dining table, gate-leg table, bureau, chest of drawers, or four to six dining chairs.
Ideal for anyone who would like to polish a single piece of furniture but may be unsure which shade to buy.
If you would like to try your hand at beeswax polishing using the products professional restorers use, this kit is a great starting point.
Our beeswax furniture polish is made in the UK from the highest quality natural waxes we can source and is specially formulated to bring old furniture back to life:
HOW TO POLISH WITH BEESWAX
Weekly furniture maintenance of removing dust can be done by simply using a slightly damp cloth and drying if needed with a clean dry cloth - beeswax polish will protect the surface for a very long time.
If you have a larger surface like the side of a chest of drawers or the top of a dining table apply the beeswax more evenly by dabbing the surface all over with small amounts of polish, then wipe in the direction of the grain to spread the wax evenly.
For carved relief areas such as an antique coffer, you can also apply beeswax furniture polish with a cheap 1 inch trimmed paint brush. It makes applying the beeswax much easier and allows the polish to get right into those dusty and hard to reach areas. Buff it when completely dry with a soft shoe brush and buffing cloth.
So far I've polished up the top of an old dressing table using the dark antique polish & used the clear polish to refinish an old pine blanket box I've been upcycling. The products are easy to use even with no experience and cover faded patches & scratches really well. You don't need to use a lot, I've still got nearly all of it left for other projects.
Thrilled with this product. Loved the packaging and presentation as well as the personalised card. Used 2 of the waxes on different pieces and the results were amazing. Love that I have the correct grade wire wool and buffing cloth included so I feel I'm using all the right tools for the job.
Polish is amazing. Best polish I have ever used and I am very fussy and meticulous. Woodwork on my antique clocks look exceptional thanks to these polishes. Help and support, a British company, Eco credentials, quick delivery - why would anybody use anything else than these products? The reviews speak for themselves.
I am in the process of purchasing materials to begin a new hobby of refurbishing antique chairs.
I chose Gilboys as I wanted to buy british made goods from a reputable company with a passion for restoring old furniture.
The customer service was fantastic. The starter polishing kit was well presented in a box and I loved the personalised touch of a little handwritten card thanking me for the purchase. Will definitely be a returning customer when,I get my new hobby off the ground.
I recently purchased a lovely rosewood slipper chair. Unfortunately, it had some water marks on the rosewood and the wood was in need of some tlc. I watched Gilboys You Tube for advice and ordered their sample box with all 3 polishes etc. It worked a treat and now the woodwork looks great. Thank you Gilboys for great products and great service too.
I have planted the sweet pea seeds too!
I can’t say enough about your products ~ from the thoughtful packaging to the story behind them to the quality of the wax itself, everything is perfect. And the scent is dreamy!
As far as I am concerned , this company ticks all the right boxes. It is a British company which is run by craftsmen . They understand the desire that amateurs like myself have to be able to source good quality products with excellent provenance. I am at an early stage of learning about the best way to handle and care for furniture made of wood and I find the instructional videos invaluable.
