Our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of your wooden furniture has led us to improve our beeswax polish formula by incorporating a UV absorber. This addition has been scientifically proven to significantly lessen the harmful effects of UV radiation from direct sunlight on wooden surfaces.
By integrating a UV absorber into our trusted beeswax polish formula, we provide additional protection that absorbs even more of the harmful UV rays before they can damage the wood or its finish. This advanced protection is especially crucial for pieces exposed to direct sunlight, helping to greatly reduce discolouration and extend the life of your furniture.
While it does not block all UV rays entirely, it acts as a crucial additional barrier, extending the life of your furniture and keeping its colour and finish vibrant.

I am restoring an oak fender that my Grandfather made for his own home in circa 1890. When I took possession of it, it was showing it's age and had not been cared for a while.
I have been using Gilboys Golden wax polish on it and it now looks superb. I have started working my way through every piece of my Grandfather's carving in my possession!!
I have been refinishing furniture as a hobby for about 20 years and Gilboy’s products have made an enormous difference in the finished product!! I only use Gilboys waxes and hard wax oil on all my products and people are absolutely amazed at the finished product!
I have a small mahogany desk upstairs that, without my realizing it, was getting baked by the afternoon sun. It had a white, hazy film on it that I had tried to repair to no avail. The dark wax made a tremendous difference so that I no longer am thinking that I should paint the desk. Thank you so, so much!
Used with the recommended wire wool leaves a beautifully smooth finish that has polished to a subtle sheen. Need a bit of elbow grease but like everything the more effort you put in the better the results.
I’ve used it in lots of places - stair hand rails, wardrobes and tables and I have been really impressed.
I used it for my old chest of drawers and the difference is incredible. It brightened up the colour of the wood and gave it a nice shine and smooth texture, I can barely see any of the scratches. Definitely a little jar of gold.

I’m restoring a Victorian pine cupboard and it is a joy to use such carefully made products and although my task is still a work in progress I am delighted with the results so far. In addition to a tin of hard wax oil and antique gold polish I highly recommend the Sheffield made Gilboy’s cabinet scraper. Who knew one could get so excited about waxes and polishes!
