We started with organically-produced and humanely-harvested beeswax from local beekeepers that is triple-filtered and added the finest natural ingredients we possibly could:
Cosmetic-grade lanolin (wool wax) for its excellent emollient properties. It replicates the natural lubrication of animal skin, softening leather, preventing it from drying and allowing the fibres to move smoothly across each other and so reduces abrasive wear. It is both water-retaining and repellent.
T1-grade natural carnauba wax known as the 'queen of waxes' because it is the hardest of all the natural waxes. It provides a crystal-clear, hard-wearing, non-greasy waterproof finish that allows the natural colour of the leather to shine through while locking-in the softening oils and emollients.
Over time the natural tanning oils evaporate out of the hide. The smell of leather comes from these oils. If not replaced, leather will eventually dry out completely and become brittle and crack. We add sweet almond and coconut oils as a pleasant-smelling top-up to the lubricating tanning oils.
Cocoa butter is a natural emollient with great stability. This quality, coupled with natural antioxidants, Its velvety texture, pleasant fragrance and emollient properties have made it a popular ingredient in soaps and lotions.

I had been in need of a leather conditioner for my phone case and for a pair of gloves and was reminded that I had watched all of Simon's videos on YouTube. I immediately knew, just from what I'd seen on YouTube, that I wanted to try his products.
I am so so so glad that I did! This leather balsam is out of this world, and everything you need to use it is included in the box. Not only that, but Simon really does go over and above what is required: when I opened the box, which had my name carefully and aesthetically pleasingly handwritten on it and even had a thank you note inside, I discovered that I had also been given a packet of sunflower seeds! These will be brilliant for the garden next year.
Now the seriousness with which Simon approaches his business is evident from his absolute attention to my very brief message on this website when I discovered I could not leave a review, possibly because of some technical issue here or there. Simon called me and we had a brief conversation. That he took the time to call me himself rather than have some third party customer services supplier company do it for him really makes the difference. We were able to chat about all sorts of things in our brief conversation and I know now, simply from this personal touch that I will be recommending Gilboy's products from here on in. Our 20 year old leather sofa was looking decidedly tired. This leather balm was easy to apply and has really bought the leather back to a fresh state, and looks and feels sooo much better. Thoroughly recommend. Photo shows the half way point, although it does not show the improvement at its best.
Absolutely lovely stuff, a little goes a long way
Used on goatskin, deerskin, calf and kangaroo. Soaks in evenly and give good protection. Also renovated some 15-year old shoes to make them wearable again.

I purchased the Beeswax Leather Balsam Conditioner for a footstool that I inherited from my parents. It is made of beautiful, deep red leather, but it needed some care. The leather conditioner from Gilboy's worked like magic! It is a wonderful product. I have also purchased different furniture waxes, and they are wonderful as well.

Gilboys Leather Balsam is so easy to apply and no buffing is needed. I have used it on both furniture and shoes and the shine is remarkable. My only advice is to wait overnight before using your furniture to ensure that the surface is completely dry. Another winner from Gilboys!
Best leather product I have used. Will not use anything else. Superb on heavily used chair and foot stall.
