IMPROVED UV PROTECTION

Our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of your wooden furniture has led us to improve our beeswax polish formula by incorporating a UV absorber. This addition has been scientifically proven to significantly lessen the harmful effects of UV radiation from direct sunlight on wooden surfaces.

By integrating a UV absorber into our trusted beeswax polish formula, we provide additional protection that absorbs even more of the harmful UV rays before they can damage the wood or its finish. This advanced protection is especially crucial for pieces exposed to direct sunlight, helping to greatly reduce discolouration and extend the life of your furniture.

While it does not block all UV rays entirely, it acts as a crucial additional barrier, extending the life of your furniture and keeping its colour and finish vibrant.

Environmental preservation is very important to us and we make every effort to ensure our products have a minimal impact on the environment:

We are not driven by a corporate cost-reduction ethos. We select our components based on quality and sustainability rather than the cheapest alternatives
No petrochemical solvents, we use only pure pine gum spirits of turpentine
100% Plastic-free recyclable packaging
Recycled cardboard and paper from FSC-approved mixed sources
Packing tape that is paper & cotton based with a water-based gum adhesive which can be recycled along with the cardboard boxes
No polypropylene-based tape. We use biodegradable raffia twine.
Our workshop roof is completely covered in solar panels and generates far more electricity than we consume

HOW TO USE

For best results use the included ultra-soft 0000-grade oil-free wire wool to apply the polish
With gentle pressure spread the polish evenly over the surface in the direction of the grain, being careful not to over apply and avoid any upholstered areas. Once applied the surface area should look matt in appearance
Allow the pure pine turpentine to completely evaporate and the wax to harden (15-20 minutes in temperate climates)
Use the included open-weave pure cotton buffing cloth to buff the wax with ease and without leaving streaks. An open-weave cloth reduces the heat from friction that would melt the top layer of wax and cause smearing.

Weekly furniture maintenance of removing dust can be done by simply using a slightly damp cloth and drying if needed with a clean dry cloth - beeswax polish will protect the surface for a very long time.

If you have a larger surface like the side of a chest of drawers or the top of a dining table apply the beeswax more evenly by dabbing the surface all over with small amounts of polish, then wipe in the direction of the grain to spread the wax evenly.

SECRET TRADE TIP:

For carved relief areas such as an antique coffer, you can also apply beeswax furniture polish with a cheap 1 inch trimmed paint brush. It makes applying the beeswax much easier and allows the polish to get right into those dusty and hard to reach areas. Buff it when completely dry with a soft shoe brush and buffing cloth.

Have only had time to use the product on one piece of furniture.i am very pleased with the end result. Th on line video was vey help full for future projects I have in mind ,just need the time..The piece of furniture I brought back to live was a 18th century French bench made of fruitwood..sorery didn't take picture before but here's the end result.Will definitely be punching more of this product

I loved the finish, but I think I did something wrong

I think I must not have done something right, because a glass of water was put on the table afterwards and it marked. Does this mean I need to use another coat or two of hard wax oil to seal it? Love the products, and I know the reason for the problem is what I have done not the products.

All I hoped for

The hours I spent researching online, trying to find a good furniture wax for my antique furniture. When I found this inexpensive but lovely hutch, I realized that the finish was flaking off, especially on the front. I needed a finish that could "restore" the tired out finish and also be good for my other furniture. The research took days, and I was frustrated that there were so many options but none seemed good. Until I came across Gilboys, It was everything I wanted--easy for a fairly inexperienced DIYer, not toxic, no chemical clean-up needed, not messy, quick drying. The YouTube video where Simon compared all the different options for finishes was just what I needed to help me know that the beeswax furniture polishing kit was the way to go. I did two rounds, on two days, and LOVE the results. I love the finished color, the texture, the gloss--everything.

I enjoyed this product so much I'll be purchasing it for my parents and husband's parents for Christmas, since they have many wooden antiques too!

And the thing that made the order truly special was how carefully and thoughtfully it was packaged. Gilboy's is now the only place I'll come when I need to refinish something. It is SO RARE nowadays to find quality in ANY product; these things are such good quality they are a pleasure to use. Clearly I'm a fan. And my hutch has new life--it's almost glowing! : )

Teak Dining Table

I found Gilboy's on youtube, the Teak Dining Table Restoration
was what i was looking for as i had one in a bad state unused for about 20 years. i bought your hard wax oil and the bees wax polihsing kit, I followed your instructions and got a really lovely result on my teak table, the rose gold wax is very easy to use with the '0000' steel wool and the results made the table look like new. thank you for a very good product.

Excellent Products!

I’m a complete novice, so did a bit of research before buying Gilboys products.
The results I was able to achieve on this Victorian mahogany dining table are beautiful.
I struggled with the buffing, due to a shoulder injury, so I bought an electric hand heals buffer to finish off.
I like that all packaging is recyclable or refillable & the YouTube videos are really helpful.
I would recommend & definitely order again.

Such a pleasure to use this polish. It does what I've always thought polish should do. It just works. Put it on nice and thick, go over it with a cloth and you get a stunning professional finish every time. Rich colour too, and smells wonderful.

Got some life back.

The finish had faded and dulled in spots due to sunlight. Decided to give your wax a try. It worked quite well. I am impressed. While it is not perfect, it came back to 90% of original, which is quite good and definitely cheaper than having this redone. Will be testing further on other furniture.

Great finish for wood carvings

I got the starting kit to restore some older carvings done by another person and couldn't be happier with the result. The wax is perfect and I am now going to use it on my regular work as well. Also the little ''scratch fix cubes'' worked great on fixing small cracks on those old carvings. Very, very happy I found this product.

Brighter Times Ahead

Restored this old clock which was in the Attic. When my husband, was a lad, he used to cover the face up when he was doing his revising, so he wouldn't know the time he spent revising. Used the Gilboys medium wax on the casing. The clock now has pride of place and the wood looks rich and shining. Brings back happy memories.

Hi Simon.
My Daughter Deborah purchased a old China cabinet. It belonged to the lady's grandmother.
So when she got it home it was in a sad way. So my wife Dawn stared to restore it, looking for help she took to the internet and found the Gilboys videos.
So over the next couple of months, she worked on it, but could not find the right wax to finish it. So she asked me to order the kit from your web.
When it arrived she was very excited and finished the unit.
It now sits in the hall taking pride of place with a new lease of life, thanks to your wonderful product and help.

excellent products

I have used and reordered these products with excellent results on antique furniture. Gives the pieces a wonderful soft finish enhancing the patina. Easy to use, I apply with fine steel wool and polish with their knitted polishing cloth, works great.

I have tried nearly every Wax on the market I have a cupboard full and they either leave smears, still come off onto your clothes days later or don't buff to a proper shine, finally found one that does what it is supposed to do and so effortlessly wish I'd found it years ago
