Everything you need to start polishing your furniture like a professional with the best beeswax polish:
Perfect if you have one prize piece of wooden furniture or have two or three pieces of different types of wood. We have ensured there is enough in each tin to cover a single piece of furniture (depending on the absorption rate of the wood) such as dining table, gate-leg table, bureau, chest of drawers, or four to six dining chairs.
Ideal for anyone who would like to polish a single piece of furniture but may be unsure which shade to buy.
If you would like to try your hand at beeswax polishing using the products professional restorers use, this kit is a great starting point.
Our beeswax furniture polish is made in the UK from the highest quality natural waxes we can source and is specially formulated to bring old furniture back to life:
Environmental preservation is very important to us and we make every effort to ensure our products have a minimal impact on the environment:
Weekly furniture maintenance of removing dust can be done by simply using a slightly damp cloth and drying if needed with a clean dry cloth - beeswax polish will protect the surface for a very long time.
If you have a larger surface like the side of a chest of drawers or the top of a dining table apply the beeswax more evenly by dabbing the surface all over with small amounts of polish, then wipe in the direction of the grain to spread the wax evenly.
For carved relief areas such as an antique coffer, you can also apply beeswax furniture polish with a cheap 1 inch trimmed paint brush. It makes applying the beeswax much easier and allows the polish to get right into those dusty and hard to reach areas. Buff it when completely dry with a soft shoe brush and buffing cloth.
I was delighted with my order, very professional and personal service. Will definitely use your Company again and will recommend to others.
This was my first go at restoration of some furniture and the results were amazing. I cleaned the stand then polished it twice using the wire wool provided, Rose Gold beeswax, and the polishing cloth - the transformation was amazing, it now looks fantastic.
Very pleased with the results, having used the polish to revive my Ercol coffee table and sideboard. Next I'm going to try the scratch repair kit, having watched the very helpful uTube video.
Nice product which does an excellent job. Very quick delivery. Wonderful packaging and a thoughtful free gift.
Arrived very quickly in a lovely presentation box that portrayed "Old British" quality throughout. I have used some of contents on an old oak dinning table we purchased new nearly forty years ago. The table had all the marks one would expect to find on such a family table that has seen our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up, not just being used for dinners but also as the centre for many activities such as craft making, cards, family quiz games and much more, so as you can imagine there were some areas of concern. I followed the online video demonstrations giving the table two coats and polishing each back as required, the results were fantastic with many marks fading and the old deep shine on the table giving off that lovely warm feeling you get from an old friend when you meet again. One downside is that I have now inherited the task of polishing the chairs and keeping the table in such a lovely condition. Maybe Gilboys has some elbow grease I can buy!
Did exactly what they said on the tin. Really pleased with the results, I only used as a top refresh but still makes a huge difference, very easy to apply and gives a deep gloss finish. The only minor issue was getting my fingers in the narrow tin pots.
I held back from giving a review until I'd tried the product on a number of projects and I'm very impressed with the results. I restore antique clock cases and it's essential not to lose the patina built up over typically a 100 years or more.
I found the following:
* Not much product is required, it clearly has good quality enriching ingredients.
* It is easy to apply. Infact I found that (as detailed in the instructions) the most important thing is actually to do nothing for about 30 minutes after initially application.
* The colour enriching of the rose gold is subtle and appealing on appropriate wood.
* After buffing the surface has a slight 'hardness' that surprised me given the creaminess of the original wax.
* For my projects so far the new wax finish is every so slightly matt, this is probably because I've been cautious not to remove too much of the original finish. I'm sure a more polished appearance is possible, but this the just finish I wanted to achieve.
Finally it is delightful to purchase a product where just receiving it and opening it is a pleasure in itself. The well designed gift style packaging, hand written despatch note, reassurance of advice being on hand and complementary seeds is evocative of bygone age when retailers genuinely valued they customers.
I love a business that cares about these things. Excellent service too. And really helpful YouTube videos. Thanks
I am working on a small Child’s chair that looked like it had seen better days. I stripped off the fabric and watched Gilboys You Tube video. I was very impressed. Didn’t want to buy a big tin so this starter kit was ideal for this little project. I now want to learn more about treating wood before I tackle upholstery projects. It’s amazing how you can restore a piece and show the beautiful wood grain. Thank you this is fabulous product and you sent me extra buffing cloths because you’d run out of cardboard sleeves for the tins. Very thoughtful.
I ordered the trial set and was blown away by the personalised packaging, the sweet peas, but most of all by the quality of the product. This is seriously good polish! Fantastic service. Nothing else left to say!!
