HOW TO POLISH WITH BEESWAX

  1. Use a soft cloth or very fine 0000 wire wool
  2. With gentle pressure spread the polish evenly over the surface in the direction of the grain, being careful not to over apply and avoid any upholstered areas. Once applied the surface area should look matt in appearance
  3. Allow the pure pine turpentine to completely evaporate and the wax to harden for 20-30 minutes
  4. Use a soft buffing cloth to buff the wax to a deep and lustrous shine

Weekly furniture maintenance of removing dust can be done by simply using a slightly damp cloth and drying if needed with a clean dry cloth - beeswax polish will protect the surface for a very long time.

If you have a larger surface like the side of a chest of drawers or the top of a dining table apply the beeswax more evenly by dabbing the surface all over with small amounts of polish and then wipe in the direction of the grain to spread the wax evenly.

*SECRET TRADE TIP:

For carved relief areas such as an antique coffer, you can also apply beeswax furniture polish with a cheap 1 inch trimmed paint brush. It makes applying the beeswax much easier and allows the polish to get right into those dusty and hard to reach areas. Buff it 20 to 30 minutes later with the soft shoe brush and buffing cloth.

Great service, great product

I discovered Gilboy’s via a YouTube video and bought their Antique Gold wax polish to finish the deep clean of an elm dining table. Ordering was easy and the polish arrived very quickly, with some Sweet Pea seeds and a lovely note from Jo. The polish did exactly what it said on the tin and the table is back to looking great again.

Fantastic product!

Having recently purchased a Georgian sideboard from an antique shop they suggested that I use Gilboy’s wax to maintain the piece and to give it a wonderful glow. I promptly went online and ordered the wax and was delighted to receive the beautiful presented box in a matter of days. I promptly opened it and used the wax on the item of furniture and am absolutely delighted with the results! Really pleased that they offer the service of refills and a bonus at a reduced price too. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic product superbly marketed

A superbly high quality product, although not cheap, its good value as I use very little compared to other cheaper products. I will be returning the empty jar (another great idea) for a reduced cost refill when its empty, be a while yet though. Personalised handwritten packaging is lovely idea in this electronic age!

Back for more!!

Sometimes you come across a product and a service that stands out from its competitors. Not only the wonderful quality of this Beeswax Polish, but the attention to detail and personal touch in the service; something which I appreciate immensely. Very happy, and thanks.

This is the third purchase I have made from Gilboys I started with the three wax starter pack, which I thought was a great idea to test out the waxes. I was completely amazed at the difference it has made to my antique furniture. The pieces have never looked so good. Highly recommended

Great polish,

Used it a week after receiving it. Seriously over packaged, hence the 4 stars, however great polish, my battered 150 year old bedside table looks, and smells, great.

Hi Suz28
Thank you for your very kind review. I'm glad the polish performed well for you.
The packaging has to be good to ensure the polish arrives to you in the same condition it left our workshop. The cardboard it is held in is made from FSC approved 75% recycled cardboard. Without it we would have damaged parcels all over the world.
I hope you continue to have success with our polish.
Best wishes
Simon

Simply the best!

I have purchased all three varieties of polish and each one of them is simply superb. It is by far the best polish I have ever used and our furniture has never looked so good.

Happy customer!

I was really delighted with the prompt on line response, the advice given, and the speed of product delivery. The polish has made a significant contribution to restoring my old furniture and I have found lots of additional things to us it on too.
The beautiful packaging and hand written note was an unexpected pleasure and made me feel like a valued customer, and the refill policy and sweet pea seeds is a nice touch. Thank you!
