Commissioned September 2006 Restoration work carried out - All the joints have been steamed apart, cleaned, repaired as necessary and re-glued (using traditional hot melt scotch glue).

Polished surfaces have been cleaned, coloured, French polished and waxed to finish. The seat has been reupholstered and finished with a fine regency stripe fabric.

Prior to restoration this chair was in a very poor state..

What was left of the upholstery was removed The entire chair was steamed apart & treated for woodworm Both rear legs have been replaced due to severe woodworm infestation.

The horse-shoe framework was re-constructed. The show-wood areas were consolidated, striped of its remaining shellac finish.

The chair was then finished with button polish. Our upholsterer then traditionally finished the chair.
