Simon Gilboy
 
Simon - Apprenticed to Dartington Trust at Staverton Joinery in 1987.
During his time as an apprentice he attended college and gained City & Guild Distinctions at advanced levels in traditional signwriting as well as interior decorative techniques.

William Arscott 

Will - Since joining the company in 1998, served his 5 year apprenticeship at Gilboy's and gained additional GNVQ's in cabinet making. 

Will has developed into a very skillful craftsmen, Specialising in the fine polishing of all periods of furniture.

Frank Webb

BAFRA restorer

Frank  or 'Sir' as we have been instructed to call him. Has officially retired but he just can't help himself when it comes to furniture and the repair of it. 

Frank was trained in London ('some time ago') and has the most natural talent and skill when it comes to repairing furniture.

Darren Coombes

Traditional Upholsterer

Trained at the London College of Furniture Darren joined the company earlier this year.

Proficient in all aspects of upholstery from detailed leather work and deep buttoned chesterfields to raw silk curtain pelmets. Darren is also available to anyone requiring larger amounts of contract upholstery. Hotel & Pub seating, on site repairs can also carried out if required. 

Nicholas Thomson

Nicholas Thomson has been a French Polisher for over 27 Years, serving a 6 year apprenticeships with the Palmer family in Sussex. He has worked for the largest antique firm in the UK and was foreman polisher at St James Gallery in Guernsey, For 14 years Nick had his own business in Kingsbridge but mainly worked in London on some very big projects... Debenham house, where he was head or restoration on all the woodwork. Nick came to work at Gilboys in January 2007 

Matthew Allnutt

Pictured here many years ago!

Matt (swiftly approaching his fouth decade) is our on-site french polisher.

Apprenticed to Gilboys in the early 1990's, Matt has taken his craft around the world.
